MTS

Multiple Tank Syndrome

Definition

MTS (Multiple Tank Syndrome) is the hobbyist phenomenon of starting with one tank and ending up with many. Aquarium-keeping is addictive; most experienced hobbyists have 3-10 tanks.

Practical use

Stages: 1 tank → community tank → species-specific (cichlid) tank → quarantine tank → breeding tank → frag tank → grow-out tank. Each tank fills a niche the others can't.
